Key responsibilities:

  • Providing high quality financial insight and guidance to stakeholders based on commercial understanding of the business, market context and underlying business strategy to support decision making processes
  • Supporting preparation of strategic plan, budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Performing investment appraisal analysis to strategic projects and undertake performance monitoring post implementation
  • Attending and being an integral part of senior team meetings with the relevant function providing financial insight and commercial context
  • Using expert level Excel database analysis skills, interrogate data from multiple sources to enable visibility of the profitability at product level across market
  • Analysing and interpreting investment spend and performance, highlighting and understanding issues and opportunities with appropriate recommendations
  • Acting as a catalyst for change and proactively challenge decision-making based on sound financial and commercial reasoning
  • Providing  explanation to monthly management accounts. Identifying any future risks or opportunities vs. budget. Driving cost control across the business unit
  • Monitoring performance against targets on a monthly basis. Driving cost control across the functions. Producing specific reporting against strategic initiatives where required
  • Challenging processes, identifying weaknesses and providing recommendations to support the development of more robust processes and controls
  • Producing ad-hoc analysis as required

 

If you have at least:

  • ACCA/CIMA qualification will be a strong asset
  • Retail / FMCG experience would be an advantage
  • Commercial awareness and experience of acting as a trusted business partner to senior colleagues
  • Proactive attitude, ambition and self-motivation, with a “can-do” attitude
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Multi-tasking skills, and ability to operate in within tight deadlines
  • Strong impact and credibility. Ability and confidence to influence and challenge decision-making
  • Strong technical skills - advanced Excel
  • Fluent communication in English
